One of the most popular games of the 1970s is back, re-created with the oldest surviving plastic molds and packaged in a reproduction of the original box. Can you break the hidden code?

Mastermind was invented in 1970 by Mordecai Meirowitz, a postmaster and telecommunications expert from Israel. It soon became popular worldwide, winning numerous awards and earning the loyalty of a multitude of fans. More than 5.5 million copies have been sold so far.

Mastermind is easy to learn and easy to play, but challenging to win. You'll need skill, yes, but also a bit of luck to become a mastermind in this fun game. Break the code in 10 moves or less. With over 2,000 possibilities, no two games will be alike!

Players start by choosing who will be the code maker and the code breaker. You'll switch spots each round, with the code maker earning a point for each guess the code breaker makes. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

The code maker places 4 colored pegs of their choice, and then the code breaker makes a guess. The code maker places a white key peg for each correct color that isn't in the right place, and a black key peg for each color that is in the right place. No key pegs are placed for guesses that aren't the right color.

The code breaker uses this information to make progressively more refined guesses until they guess the code or run out of tries. Then players switch places.
